The battle of the move

Well we found an apartment. Rejoice! I was having a minor hyperventilating moment... but I'm pretty sure I'm making a full recovery. Now we have the joyful process of moving about two blocks south... with all the things we stuffed into a three bedroom house. Including a rather large solid oak however you spell the word that sounds like arm-war. (It's all Jeffrey on that one.) And then we started the magical process of stripping an painting a solid wood couch/loveseat. (shout out to Megan Byard... I am feeling your recent pain.) I hope to be moving in sometime this week. It will be nice to finally settle. I have been feeling displaced and living out of suitcases for a while... I'd like to settle at least one thing in my life.

And on the wedding front... we got a wedding musician!! His name is Hank, and he and his buddy play Celtic/Irish music live! Yay for one more thing we don't have to worry about. We got my wedding band today, and dropped it off to be sized... so now after the couple of errands we run this weekend, we'll just need to get food, and then burn some music on to CD's. I am feeling far less stressed about this now. I just need to get all the rsvp's taken care of.... and the world be a beautiful place.

It has begun!

So I never thought I would become one of those people who blogs...or writes down anything pertaining to their lives.... but I don't keep a diary, and I sometimes forget the awesome experiences and thoughts I'd like to share. And all too often, I don't update people with calls or emails letting them know how the heck I am or what in the world I'm doing. So here it is. Start the fanfare. You over there with the trumpet...get playing! I officially have a blog! (I still have the feeling that I'm going to be mocked over the dinner table about this... so anyone can feel free to tell Jeffrey that blogging is ok, and that I haven't succumbed to the life of a housewife yet.)

So here is the news, everyone. I'm getting married in 40 days. Yes, I know. Freaking out? But of course. I'm pretty sure I have almost everything done except the food, and the music. Then I just need to pick up my dress, and add the straps to my bridesmaid's dresses. (they came with these nasty little sash things that I'm going to convert into straps!) It can sometimes feel overwhelming, and disappointing, but I'm trying to stay on top of things. I just wish everyone would rsvp! My cousin is making my cake now... she is so talented, and I know it will be gorgeous. I feel like I need a person to keep everything on track and organized. But hey, do it yourself means just that.

Other business... we aren't going to have the house after all. *tears* Jeff and I found this awesome house that was over 100 years old, and we were going to fix it up and make it a home. They guy selling it to use was sort of flake... so I was worried to begin with, and I had reason to be. We called to see where our purchasing contract was, and he let us know that he was essentially bankrupt, and that the house is going into foreclosure. We have no way of buying the house outright, so we're losing it. Now we are on the apartment hunt... assuming the guy ever returns our down-payment. I hope it all works out.

I'm hoping to start cosmetology school in the fall... Jeff is looking for another job... heck, we're both looking for other jobs. We're itching to move up in the world. :) Jeff's kids are growing up so quick, and everything is working out in other areas. That's the update.... more news to follow!!
